Daglar Tracker: F2P Items and Planarite Cap Raise

Daglar is continuing to keep the lines of communication open with members of the RIFT community by commenting on a large number of forum posts that include player suggestions for the future of RIFT‘s free-to-play Item Store. Here’s a selection of his posts from yesterday that we found the most interesting.

First of all, yes, it seems we’re finally getting a raise to the current Planarite cap. The good news is that the raise won’t be tied to the Item Store whatsoever:

I’m not gonna charge you for a cap increase on planarite. I just asked Chris to update it to 200k.

Secondly, it seems that the team is looking to add a few cosmetic weapon skins to the store at some point. Since the new Transfiguration Baubles allow players to change the appearance of our weapons finally, this would be the perfect time introduce some unique weapons to choose from.

They are not there. We are getting pretty down to the wire, but I know Chris was looking at adding some more.

With any luck, maybe we will get a few in RIFT 2.3 or shortly after.

It also seems we’ll be getting an item to purchase off the Item Store that lets us pop up a porticulum anywhere and use it to teleport around Telara. The item will be similar to the Brevanic Portal Generator but with a one-time use.

Daglar had the following to say regarding the possibility of priority dungeon/PvP queues for Patron subscribers:

We talked quite a bit about doing priority queuing for dungeons and PvP but decided not to invest the time in this for 2.3 launch. There were a lot of other features that would not have made it if we do.

We’ll keep it on the list to consider after we get things out the door.
