You may have noticed the guide spam today. We’ve heard you guys. Our class guides have been in sore need of an update for a long time now. Starting today, we’re going to be providing the community with an assortment of some of the most popular and reputable RIFT builds out there. Featured guides include guides created by Rift Junkies staff members as well as guides originally written by other members of the RIFT community and fully sourced and credited.

Our goal is to create a single, easy-to-navigate source to find common builds that are all organized and formatted similarly and simply in order to provide our readers with quick build information when they need it most. Think of our guides as a popular build database, if you will. We’ll do our best to keep each of the guides updated, but if we fail to do so, drop us a line and we’ll get right to it!

Today we have the Cleric builds ready for your previewing pleasures. You’ll find guides for a bit of everything. If there’s any spec you feel we’re particularly lacking, feel free to let us know.

Cleric Guide: Solo Defiler AoE Farming
Cleric Guide: Shaman Melee DPS
Cleric Guide: Inquisitor Ranged DPS
Cleric Guide: Justicar – The Cleric Tank
Cleric Guide: Solo Druid – Melee Leveling
Cleric Guide: Warden Raid Healing
Cleric Guide: Sentinel Healing
Cleric Guide: Purifier Raid Shielding

In the weeks to come, we’ll be providing updated Mage, Rogue, and Warrior guides as well as updating the lists of guides featured in our header links.

Wow, way to just rip every guide from the forum (regardless of the “source” and “credit”.) Why not actually provide unique content on your own site instead of having to rip content from elsewhere?

So let me guess, you’ll be stealing the guides from the Mage, Warrior, and Rogue sections too? So glad that MY hard work I post on the forums will be copy/pasted here to supply this ad-ridden infestation of a fansite. Shame on you Draegon for allowing this blatant ripoff to occur.

If you’re that desperate for content, why not pay people for their guides? Don’t copy/pasta. That’s pathetic.

I don’t understand the temper tantrum. You were given credit and you
published your guide for free on a forum accessible by anyone. You
seriously want royalties for the garbage that you write? That’s
      hilarious, get over yourself.

      • Mohrdeghast

That doesn’t matter. All written work is automatically copyrighted. Posting it on a forum doesn’t change that. If this compilation was indeed published without consulting the original guide writers, then that’s a deplorable lack of integrity.

Also, technically this article should be listed as “Edited by Laura Hardgrave” and not “Written by Laura Hardgrave” since it’s just a compilation of other people’s work. Adding a few introductory paragraphs doesn’t make it yours.

In the future it would be far better to just link the guides instead of reprinting them without permission. If any guide writers are truly upset by this, I encourage you to look into copyright law and how it protects your intellectual property and hard work.

        • Laura Hardgrave

We’re really trying to be as fair to the original writers as possible. On most of the guides there’s also quite a bit more changed/added than simple introductions. We wanted to provide consistent explanations and formatting, so if you compare most of them with the forum posts, you’ll notice quite a few changes.

Our “written by” line is kinda set that way by default, but I have removed my byline on the guides that were written by multiple people. You bring up a good point, so thanks for that. :)

        • Bob Saget

Not sure if trolling or ignorant. You’re incredibly juvenile for thinking any kind of “copyright” law is going to protect you in the court of law if that’s what you’re even implying. If anything Trion’s Terms and use of Service via their forum could be invoked by any lawyer claiming it as Trion’s intellectual property that you surrendered to them by using their forums. Break out of your little box and welcome to the real world kid.

Thanks for doing this. I like being able to check one spot to get the info I need. Can’t wait to see some rogue guides around here. :)

@69d65ce36eb9a5e70cefc60cafa8715f:disqus Since they’re giving source and credit I don’t see what’s the problem. They are giving more visibility to these guides, which in my opinion is a good thing. It’s not always easy to find what you need on the forum.

  • Rifter

I also like having all of the different builds available in one spot and look forward to seeing the rest of the classes given the same treatment. However, since these guides were simply taken from the forums, it should be made more obvious whom the author actually is, ideally at the top of the article rather than placed as a footnote at the bottom.

These builds address leveling, soloing, dungeons, and raids, but what about PVP? A few builds optimized for PVP would make this compilation feel more complete.

    • Laura Hardgrave

Thanks for the suggestions! I think I’ll add a note up on the top of the guides too. And yeah, PvP guides are a great idea, will have to look into those.

  • Holy MarkerL

I can’t believe the Cabalist is missing! Strong AoE spec, and the Sigils are great for a PvP build.
