This past weekend, The Elder Scrolls Online was a big hit at QuakeCon. Bethesda not only let con-goers try out a bit of the game, but the development team held a TwitchTV live stream presentation where gameplay footage including both solo footage and new dungeon footage were shown off.
The solo overworld experience in TESO definitely seems to be shaping up to be a mixture of familiar elements from Skyrim and Oblivion but still unique enough to fit well into an MMORPG. The first-person view looks clean and was shown in detail. The UI is also very clean and minimal, which adds to the first-person experience well.
As far as dungeons in TESO go, Bethesda talked a bit about the dungeon finder tool, which will be included in launch. Players will also be able to use it to teleport to other party members. Loot will be separate for each individual player, which is great news for MMO fans who often feel a little frustrated by most loot systems in current MMOs.
To watch the full live stream, make sure to check it out on TwitchTV. CVG also posted some QuakeCon coverage including new screenshots and video showcasing new enemies as well as the game’s conversation tree.
