Ever since the beta weekends started for Final Fantasy XIV: A Realm Reborn, one question on a lot of eager players’ minds was, “What the heck are the new requirements for changing jobs?” We knew there would be some changes to the requirements, but we had no idea what they were. We were never able to test job changing during open beta, and Square Enix was being a little, well, tight-lipped. Most of us kind of guessed based off information in 1.0 and the wide range of speculation we found online. Finally, thanks to early access– now we know for sure.
Here’s the final list:
Bard: 30 Archer / 15 Pugilist
Summoner: 30 Arcanist / 15 Thaumaturge
Scholar: 30 Arcanist / 15 Conjurer
Dragoon: 30 Lancer / 15 Marauder
Black Mage: 30 Thaumaturge / 15 Archer
White Mage: 30 Conjurer / 15 Arcanist
Monk: 30 Pugilist / 15 Lancer
Warrior: 30 Marauder / 15 Gladiator
Paladin: 30 Gladiator / 15 Conjurer
Each job change will also require the completion of a quest that is obtained from the Guildmaster of the base class (the Conjuruer Guildmaster will offer the White Mage quest, for example).
These requirements have all been tested and confirmed by players active on FFXIV:ARR’s sub-Reddit (thanks, folks!).
