A battle hardened Knight once said, “…many of the truths we cling to depend greatly on our own point of view.” These are mine.

This current tier of Operations, Dread Fortress and Palace, I’ve been exclusively a Story Mode Ops Leader.

My Dark Side screams out at me “PROGRESSION!, PROGRESSION!!, PROGRESSION!!!”

The Light Side of my persona repeats “Progression leads to fear, anger, and very very late nights.”

Is being just a Story Mode Ops leader something to be proud of, or a reminder that I’m not getting it done?

Read on Nation, for my full confession.

It took me far too long, but I finally managed to get a healer toon from all three classes on the Imperial side. Sith4lyfe?

I’ve even managed to heal up to Scum & Villainy and TFB HM with all three, with two of my healers spending time in the new NiM stuff.

The goal of this quest was to determine for myself which healing class I prefer and honestly to find out if the mercenary healer is as gimped as everybody seems to think it is.

The result was fun and some clarity. I’ll try to share that with you today and hope you can help me fill in the blanks I might have missed. Please remember that this is all PVE stuff. I can look at PVP next week if there is interest but let’s focus on operations for today’s review of the healers.

The wipe. The freaking wipe. It’s the morale breaker of a raid group and can eventually lead to guilds breaking up or hitting that metaphorical wall.
We’ve all been there, right? The boss just won’t die no matter what strat we throw at it or how we tweak the raid group. Sometimes you’re just not good enough or it’s just not your night. And, God forbid, sometimes it’s the healer’s fault. /cries.

It’s been a rough couple of week for my raid team and the guild in general when it comes to raiding. Both of our groups are chipping away at NiM content (TFB, SNV). Slow progress is being made but the details of that progress is where you can get into trouble.

Note: I was able to heal the first boss of NiM TFB, but we waited to see if Bioware was going to “hot fix” the second fight. Turns out they’re not, so I hope to go back into NiM TFB this week. I VOW to have impression on that next week.

There was a time when I was shopping around for guilds on The Harbinger.

I was coming back to the game after a couple months off and I really wanted a raiding guild where I could focus entirely on taking part in operations. It came down to two choices.
One was a pretty solid guild that was focusing more on 16-man progression and raiding. The other was a guild I had followed since launch and I knew to be a very good 8-man progression group of players.

In the end it came down to me wanting to join a known guild that I already knew people in, but there was something about the 16-man group that stuck in my head.

Are Nightmare Mode Operations back-of-the-box content? Is it something a developer can add to the list of goodies you can enjoy when playing their game?

Nightmare Modes are achievable and important, no doubt, but is it readily accessible enough for such content hype?
