Our staff members recently had the opportunity to get some answers to our questions regarding ArcheAge. Much like the experience I’ve had with their support team, Trion Worlds had detailed responses and got back to us very quickly. We got some great information on upcoming game changes, cash shop changes, and a deeper look at some of the challenges with the localization of ArcheAge.

Along with many other players, we also had a chance to play in alpha and the recent beta events. One big thing we’ve all noticed is the “first come, first serve”-type tagging system when it comes to tagging mobs for quest credit (that led to instances like this). Good news– Trion and XLGAMES are considering changing this on a global level. We’re looking forward to more on that! Read on for more information.

Defiance‘s Executive Producer Nathan “ennsta” Richardsson and Community Manager Lance “Myll_Erik” James took some time yesterday to hold a Q&A session with the Defiance community over on Raptr. You can read through the complete Q&A session (which is fairly long) or check out our quick highlights roundup below. A few new information tidbits were uncovered during the course of the interview. Keep reading to take a look!

Note: We’re just going to list a handful of the most interesting questions as well as their provided answers. Some questions have been paraphrased for quick reading. Both developers took turns in answering questions.

As you’ve probably read, Jeremy Gaffney did a Q&A Session on Wildstar-Central last night where he answered a ton of community questions based on the leaked patch notes. It was a pretty awesome reaction from a studio that we’ve not seen before. What we’ve done is boil down the Q&A session for you so you can read it line for line. But if you want to see the discussion as it grows, make sure you head over to the WTC forums for the full community reaction.

Livestreams are becoming very popular among PC gamers, and for good reason– what better way to view live, in-game action along with commentary, and know that thousands of other gamers are doing exactly the same thing? Many MMO developers have started hosting their own LiveStream sessions, and next week, BioWare is hopping on the LiveStream train. Along with LucasArts, BioWare is beginning a monthly LiveStream Q&A session, and will grab questions from the community to answer during the stream. The first session is next week, 9/21/2012, and will focus on Game Update 1.4.

Full announcement:

BioWare and LucasArts are excited to announce a new monthly LiveStream Q&A Event. The objective of this new LiveStream event series is to answer any questions our Community has concerning the content within each Game Update. Below is all the information you need in order to watch and participate in the first monthly LiveStream Event.

Star Wars™: The Old Republic™ – LiveStream

9/21/2012

4:00pm to 4:30pm CDT

The first LiveStream Event will discuss Game Update 1.4 – Terror From Beyond. This Game Update brings a brand new Operation, enhanced customization options, and expanded social features to The Old Republic. If you’d like to participate in this LiveStream Q&A Event, you can ask questions beforehand on the official forums or live on the LiveStream through Livestream chat, Twitter (#SWTOR), and Facebook.

For players hoping to get their questions answered during the LiveStream, BioWare has opened a thread to collect questions.

Here is this week’s Q&A Community Response, where we take some of last week’s questions and corresponding answers, and provide some of the feedback straight from the community. Make sure and check out the full Q&A posts for all of the questions, because we’re only going to be covering some of the highlights.

This week’s Q&A, which can be found here, had a special free-to-play focus, and will be the last weekly Community Q&A BioWare will hold. In it, a few answers generated some heavy feedback. It seems that some questions raised more additional questions than answers, which is understandable given the fact that BioWare is releasing more F2P information in the months ahead. Keep reading to find out more, and make sure and check out the complete community thread where this feedback is taken from.

Looks like Mike Furguson was hanging out in the Heart of the Mists yesterday during the stress test and decided to answer some questions. Tibincrunch took some screenshots and posted them on Reddit yesterday. Thanks to him and the Reddit Community!

Mike Ferguson was hanging out in the Heart of the Mists and a bunch of people were asking questions so I decided to take some screenshots of his answers. Some of this stuff may already be known but I tried to ask some questions that were unconfirmed.

Trion updated their Storm Legion expansion page yesterday with some lore information on Crucia and the Infinity Gate. This information is actually the same reveals we saw yesterday from MMORPG.com and Massively, but it’s nice to see the lore and images on the official expansion page.

One tidbit in particular stands out as interesting, on the Infinity Gate lore page:

“The Ascended must secure the Infinity Gate and the Nexus Key if they hope to rid Telara of the dragons, or explore the planes themselves…”

Trion has previously given us hints about providing Ascendants with a way to explore the planes, and a new expansion’s the perfect time to showcase an adventure of that magnitude. Perhaps the planes will hold our future post-expansion content? The rumored Hunt Rifts might also be connected somehow. The sky’s the limit! Let the speculation begin.
