In case you haven’t checked out Defiance lately, the game has not only recently launched a new DLC pack– the Castithan Charge Pack DLC– but it has also launched a brand new type of arkfall. These arkfalls are Dark Matter arkfalls, and contain some of the most dangerous dark matter enemies and technological creations found in the game.

There are four different types of dynamic arkfalls that can pop up anywhere. The most dangerous Dark Matter event is the “Extraction Force” multi-phase major event that takes place at the culmination of a major Dark Matter arkfall event. In this fight, you’ll face off against a Monolith.

For more information, check out Trion’s latest developer blog about Dark Matter arkfalls or take a look at the video and exclusive screenshots below.

endgame raid screenshots title

In the latest Letter from the Producer, Naoki Yoshida shared some testing screenshots of both a level 50 raid and a level 50 dungeon with the Final Fantasy XIV community. He also shared a bit of behind-the-scenes information about how testing for the raids has been going. Yes, the raids are intended to be quite challenging. It seems that teamwork and carefully-planned Limit Breaks will be the key to victory in fights like the one shown in the screenshots, which is the Titan fight.

Endgame (level 50) dungeons will consist partially of instances faced earlier while leveling but on a much more difficult level. They will also offer greater rewards, of course. This system will feel immediately familiar to anyone who’s played any current MMORPG.

crimson isle

This week’s WildStar Wednesday came to us a day late but in the form of some place rather cool– a new region reveal. Carbine Studios introduced Crimson Isle, which is a Dominion region full of harsh terrain, harsh enemies, and locales that might be just as harsh as the scorpion critters pictured above. Crimson Isle will be the starting area for the Draken race and will, naturally, be a low level zone suited for levels 6 and below.

The WildStar team also tossed up a new series of screenshots on the official WildStar site that show off a bit of Crimson Isle, a roasting pig, and a charming, um, hulking football dude. Yeah. These developers are kind of awesome like that. Take a peek at the new screenshots, featured below in a convenient gallery:

dendrome title

The PTS (Public Test Shard) can be a fun place. We can test new builds, gear setups, new raids that are currently in development, and oh yeah– explore cool places like Dendrome! A few players have been romping through invisible walls and alternate, uh, areas in order to take a sneak peek at what Trion has cooking for us in the Dendrome zone.

Feel like a preview? Let’s take a look, shall we?

Dusken is one of the two new continents in Storm Legion, and like its name, the land mass seems shrouded in the very essence of dusk itself– an oncoming darkness. The element of Death has worked its way into almost every nook and cranny, and grotesque abominations wait to chomp after any intrepid wanderer. The landscape is dark, full of greys, violets, browns, and blues, yet among the dreary colors there’s a certain kind of beauty. In the skies, thunder rolls. In the shadows, light flickers. As I made my way through the continent during beta, I couldn’t help but capture a series of screenshots depicting some of the beautiful sights of Dusken.
